Drink and Doodle Over the Years
As we approach Volume 120 and explore new formats, we want to take a moment to reflect on the impact of this event and celebrate all the amazing moments we've shared so far!
Drink and Doodle has become a tradition at ABV Gallery. Over the course of 14 years, we've organized more than 115 Drink and Doodles, both at the gallery and off-site locations. These live art events are a unique way to bring the Atlanta art community together and foster a sense of excitement and engagement.
Here’s how it works, for every Drink and Doodle event, we curate a group of artists who come together in a single venue. Each artist brings their own materials and spends the evening creating an unique 8x11 inch piece of artwork. During the event, guests get the opportunity to socialize and observe the evolution of each artwork. Once complete, each piece is displayed on a shared wall and made available for bidding in a silent virtual auction that is open to both in-person and online bidders.
While there are plenty of 'Sip and Paint' events around the city, Drink and Doodle stands out because it offers a rare opportunity to observe established artists at work and witness their creative process firsthand.
The Basics:
Artists come together from 6-10 PM at one location
Each artist has until the end of the night to finish their piece
Each work is included in a silent auction immediately after it is finished, it’s hung on a communal wall
Artists of all styles are invited to demonstrate their unique creativity

Recent Local Artist Designed Flyers
In order to incorporate an additional layer of local art into our programming, we have begun to commission local artists to design our special edition Drink & Doodle Flyers.

NOTABLE DRINK AND DOODLES
Drink and Doodle Vol. 50 at Terminal West
Volume 50 in partnership with Terminal West was ABV’s first large-scale Drink and Doodle. We invited over 50 artists to be involved. We saw an incredible turnout and proved to be an epic night that inspired our future collaborations with other Atlanta-based brands and businesses. We loved that way that this event brought together artists of so many styles, all with different creative processes.
Drink and Doodle Vol. 100 at The Eastern
Drink and Doodle Vol. 100 marked a milestone for ABV. This event coincided with OuterSpace Project 2022 which formed even more excitment for this larger-than-ever gathering of Drink and Doodle artists.
100 Artists joined together at The Eastern in Reyondstown, Atlanta. As with every other Drink and Doodle, each artist was given total freedom to create artwork in whatever style or manner they preferred. With this massive amount of creatives, there was a more diverse array of work than we had ever seen before.

The Future of Drink & Doodle
As ABV continues to grow, our aim is to evolve Drink and Doodle in such a way that it can help showcase more local talent and be more inclusive the Atlanta community. To achieve this, we plan to organize more large-scale events outside our gallery space. We can’t wait to collaborate with more Atlanta-based brands and businesses and watch these partnerships bring people together in new ways!
